Glossary

TCP: The Transmission Control Protocol is used within the Internet Protocol to transport data packet between networked units.
Telnet: Allows a user to work on remote computers via a non-graphical terminal or a terminal program.
Terminal: Terminating node in a computer network. Normally used for a workstation but is also a common name for a software that can be used to access a (remote) computer by setting up a virtual terminating node. A terminal may be graphical (e.g. a terminal for the X11 window system) or text only.
