Glossary

WAN: A Wide Area Network is a large network which is, in opposite to a LAN, not limited to a specific location.
Web-Site: The term web-site is normally used for a HTTP server with a name of its own, e.g. "www.inwise.de".
WWW: The World-Wide-Web is a world spanning HTTP based information network, created in 1991 by Tim Berners Lee. The WWW is not the same as the Internet, but only a part of it.
